Excerpts of http://perso.wanadoo.fr/michelpotay, a site written by the witness:
All my life I have been a sensible, honest and benevolent man, though a non-conformist. I have continuously stayed so after the particularly stunning event that, in 1974 and 1977, made me a man of public testimony. Some persons contend that I am goofy or dishonest only because my testimony calls a lot of ruling values and authorities into question and urges every man to start to change into good and so doing, little by little, from generation to generation, change the world into good. Let those who blame me, who fancy themselves as masters of truth, of ethics or of christianity, realize that they follow traditional but forever unsuccessful ideas, rash judgments or even lies! What have those people got against me? They reproach me for having succeeded in publishing The Revelation of Arès without any help of the publishers and mass media who control thought, and for having managed to create the current of great free expectations naturally inspired by the supernatural event that radically changed the face of my life in 1974 and 1977...
I was an engineer and an atheist... As I was interested in the hidden causes of human actions I ended up finding faith... I was ordained in the Eastern Orthodox Church... In 1973, the archbishop that was my immediate superior asked me to have all of my apostolic correspondence go through the Soviet Embassy in Paris. I said no...
While waiting for another position I withdrew to Arès in Gironde (France) with a view to experimenting with pure original Christianity along with a few believers. I arrived in Arès on January 3d, 1974, with my family, I immediately swapped my cassock for overalls and a toolbox in order to repair a small dilapidated property I had just purchased there. Under those unusual circumstances, on Juanuary 15, 1974, Jesus began to appear to me. He would continue appearing to me about every other day until April 13...
Jesus' revelation changed my beliefs completely: I became aware that the religious dogmas and practives either are sheer superstitions or are not instrumental in saving men. I became aware that good put into practice is more decisive than faith so that any good man, even an unbeliever, is saved. I became aware that man is saved only by being good, merciful, just, thoughful, and that this is simply what being a penitent means, and that man gains spiritual life by turning free from a harness whatever, religious or poltical because politics is but a secular form of religion. I became aware that absolute freedom will give society more good and happiness and will be much less risky than a system whatever... I admit that, after that event, I occasionally happened to feel like taking up my previous way of life as if Jesus had never appeared to me, but I could not forget that Jesus had been living in front of me. I could not forget his warning: Don't turn back! (39/6)...
I left the church.... Until 1977 we I and my wife Christiane had to endure a social tragedy in addition to a painful moral upheaval.... We went through a cruel desert for a long while before we saw the men and women that would believe in my testimony and turn into the Arès pilgrims appear...
In the fall of 1977 I was the witness to a still more extraordinary supernatural happening: Five theophanies or direct manifestations of the Maker, whose message I entitled merely The Book. It upheld The Gospel Delivered in Arès and enhanced it with a few more pieces of revelation... Since then I have continuously striven to spread that message...
No hostility of the Establishment will ever be able to kill expectations which are going to enlarge forever.
