The association was founded on 9 March 1985 as the „Association pour la Diffusion de la Révélation d’Arès“ or the „Association for the Distribution of the Revelation of Arès“. It took on an international dimension on 19 March 1994 when it became ADIRA, the „Association for the International Distribution of the Revelation of Arès“.
